This is a "wide field" view of comet Hale-Bopp reflected in one of our ponds. The lens was a 50mm (standard) lens at f/1.4. The exposure time was 40 seconds and the camera was mounted on a normal tripod. This type of image can be taken with almost any camera with an adjustable shutter speed.

The image was taken on 3/28/97 at 1:37 UTC. The film was Fuji 400 Super G+ print film and the image was scanned directly from the negative.
