The hardwood floors are finished and they look great. We used
#2 common red oak and it has pretty wild grain and worm holes.
It also has random widths up to 5 inches.
All the images on this page were taken with a Sony digital
camera and the images decreased in resolution to speed loading.
Another view of the floor with the stairs.
A view of the kitchen from the family room (where the fireplace is).
The island has a wine rack and Helen's desk is at the very
left of the image. As you can see, the lights and appliances are
mostly installed.
This is the view of the kitchen as you enter from the garage and come
in the "back" way. The countertops are installed.
I decided to finish the front door instead of having the painters do it.
I think it came out pretty good! I spent all weekend on it!
We can actually put the cars in the garage now! All the concrete patios
and pads are now poured around the house. That was a major job. This
picture makes the house look like it's sitting in the middle of Death
Valley! It was hot today.
This is our first project in the new basement. Helen is painting the old
dining room hutch thingy I made back in 1971. It's going to be in our
bedroom closet and as you can see, Helen has picked an interesting color!
