We spent the night in Goose Bay. Our next stop was the Narssarssuaq airport in Greenland. It's situated at the end of a 50 mile long fjord and getting accurate and timely Narssarssuaq weather in 1978 wasn't so easy. After much discussion, talking with other pilots and weather people, and plans for alternates (there weren't many other airports to choose from and there was no instrument approach to Narssarssuaq) we finally took off for Greenland. Our navigation method was dead reckoning until we could receive the beacon at the end of the correct fjord.

This is the view of Greenland as we entered the fjord leading to the airport.
